Professional Statement
I would like a career in Health Education because helping others is something that has always brought me joy and provides me with a sense of fulfillment afterwards. In addition, the more I have been able to learn about health education, the more I want to be out there educating and advocating for underserved, low-income and BIPOC communities. I also want to be able to help people with behavioral changes and preventative care before it's too late for them to makes changes or be treated.
Within the next 5 years, my ultimate goal is to have a career as a health educator and make an impact on the lives of others in a positive way. It is important to me that I provide people with useful information so they can make their own informed decisions. I would like to focus on helping those in BIPOC communities because they are underserved and need more education and attention when it comes to their health.
My education and experiences thus far have prepared me for the health education field by allowing me to understand all the aspects that go into creating programs and interventions, being able to properly advocate for a public health issue, and being able to problem-solve any issues that may arise.
